Omkareshwar Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located on an island called Mandhata (or Shivapuri) in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, India. The temple is situated on the banks of the river Narmada and holds great religious significance. The island is shaped like the Hindu symbol of "Om," which is considered sacred, hence the name Omkareshwar.
